“It is our goal to provide you with a thorough, comprehensive eye exam tailored for your specific needs. We are able to use extremely advanced digital technology to view various layers of the inside of your eye, which in turn, allows us to diagnose, follow and treat many eye conditions before they become serious. This may enable early detection of eye diseases that conventional exam techniques could miss.
Routine eye exams are very important to monitor the health of your eyes, as well as to determine your need for glasses. Some eye diseases, such as glaucoma, have no early warnings and can only be detected with a thorough eye exam. This is why it is important to have your eyes examined every 1 – 2 years. Even if your eyes are healthy, you should still have a regular eye exam to detect any problems as soon as possible and begin necessary treatment. We ask that you bring any prescription glasses, such as computer and reading glasses with you as we use this as part of our examination process.
During our examination, your eyes may be dilated depending on your medical status and your chief complaint. If they are dilated, your eyes may be sensitive to light and your near vision may be blurry for about 3 – 4 hours. It is a good idea to bring sunglasses with you just incase so that in the event your eyes or dilated, they are protected from the strength of the sun when you leave our office. We recommend that you bring someone with you who can drive you home after the exam.
